07 Kristian Jones - Surface and Surface

Here are some really great partially silhouetted images from UK based Artist Kristian Jones’s ‘Fast Food Dreams’ and ‘Lost in Youth’ series. When I first saw Kristian Jones‘s work I thought of some of James Jean’s drawings and the bizarre playful work of ‘Friends With You’.  Kristian uses similar subject matter of youth, innocence and surreal characters but makes them his own with his clean minimal lines used to maximum effect.

“His style preys on the innocence of childhood imagination, surreal worlds and fictional creatures.”

Some original drawings and framed limited edition prints of Kristian Jones’s work is available on his Bigcartel here.  You can find out more about his work and his process on his blog.

01 Hell'o Monsters - surface and surfaceSome slightly disturbing Hieronymus Bosch esq work from the four piece Belgian collective Hell’O Monsters.   Hell’o Monsters comprises of 4 artists: Antoine Detaille (Tatone), François Dieltiens (Desro), Jérôme Meynen (Blastus) et Grégory Van Cleemput (Ewing 33).

“The group’s creations, despite their colorful and happy look, are in fact caustic commentaries on the adult world, human nature and society.”

Hell’o Monsters are currently exhibiting their work at ALICE Gallery, Brussels, Belgium until the 6th of April  2012.  Limited edition prints of their work is available here.
